Wastewater treatment
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) characterizes wastewater as follows: water that cannot be used directly for the task for which it was used or for which it was produced because of the quality, quantity or time of occurrence. At the same time, such water can be used for the needs of another user in another place. Water from the cooling system does not apply to wastewater.
Original: Water which is of no further immediate value to the purpose for which it was used or in the pursuit of which it was produced because of its quality, quantity or time of occurrence. However, wastewater from one user can be a potential supply to another user elsewhere. Cooling water is not considered to be wastewater.
Water purification process
The wastewater treatment plant allows through physical, biological and chemical methods reduce water pollution based on the main indicators. Selection of indicators it depends on the purpose and source of the purified water. The main indicators are BOD and COD, biological and the chemical oxygen demand, respectively.
Preliminary preparation
The primary preparation of water consists in settling various suspensions with the help of mechanical cleaning, this is necessary to prevent damage to subsequent installations.
Defending
First of all, the water is collected in a sump, the solid fraction contained in the liquid is settled here.
